The Drums' Guitarist Adam Kessler Quits the Band Mid-Tour

The Drums are one of the fastest rising bands in the world of indie pop, as they are currently on a co-headlining tour with Surfer Blood in support of their recent debut album. They've now experienced a setback on the road to success, as guitarist Adam Kessler has quit the band.

This news was announced in a post on their official site [via NME], as the remaining members wrote the following message:

There have been some questions as to recent events and we are sorry to say that Adam has left The Drums. Jonny, Jacob and Connor are devastated and are keeping to themselves and with friends at this time. The band are currently on the road in America. Thank you for all of the support, it means a lot.

There's no word on how this will effect their current tour, and if they play to replace Kessler anytime soon. Singer Jonathan Pierce doesn't play an instrument on stage, leaving only guitarist Jacob Graham and drummer Connor Hanwick to handle all of the arrangements.

Canadian audiences will have a chance to see the new-look Drums when they come to Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal in October.
