Drake and 21 Savage Fool Most of the Internet into Thinking They Did an NPR Tiny Desk Concert

"A few NPR employees frantically began trying to confirm the news internally after seeing the post on social media"

Honestly, never mind — Drake and 21 Savage have, in fact, not recorded a Tiny Desk concert at the NPR headquarters in anticipation of their forthcoming (slightly delayed) joint album Her Loss.

We've all been hoodwinked, bamboozled and led astray by an Instagram post from the reason for Shawn Desman's comeback himself. Yesterday's (November 2) viral video shows the two rappers, joined by an acoustic guitarist and bassist, in a makeshift (and frankly, quite passable) replica of the infamous Tiny Desk set — complete with the cardboard cutouts of "NPR," "Bob Boilen," and "All Songs Considered" atop a row of bookshelves.

"Thank you to @nprmusic @tinydesk for having the gang @21savage let's go crazy 🔪🦉," Drizzy wrote in the caption. "What's up everybody?" he asked in the clip. "Appreciate you joining us today, all the audience, everybody at home," he added, prior to him and 21 introducing themselves.

This morning, NPR confirmed that it was all a spoof. "Unfortunately, it is not real and Drake and 21 have not stopped by the NPR office for the segment," Ayana Archie wrote. "The Internet began freaking out at the possibility of the four-time Grammy winner doing acoustic versions of his various hits. A few NPR employees frantically began trying to confirm the news internally after seeing the post on social media and receiving text messages from friends and family."

The good news is, they seem very open to the possibility of making it a reality in the future. "Let's do it forreal tho," NPR Music responded via Twitter.

Just when we thought the tricks of spooky season were behind us! All about balance, 21 Savage and Drake also provided what some would consider a treat by revealing the Her Loss album artwork, which you can see below ahead of Friday's (November 4) release.
