Dolly Parton and Dionne Warwick will connect on a "very special" gospel duet this month, but not to be forgotten are the country icon's plans to record and release a rock album — an endeavour with a star-studded guestlist she's now teased.

In an appearance on The View this week, Parton — who always rocked, really, but made it official with her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year — shared a selection of rock legends who have apparently already recorded their contributions, leaving her more time to reunite Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and Jimmy Page.

According to Parton, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, a contractually freed John Fogerty, ex-Journey vocalist Steve Perr and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler have all been enlisted.

Asked about the involvement of Mick Jagger for a cover of the Rolling Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," Parton shared a couple more guest features in revealing that "Pink and Brandi Carlile are singing on that particular song with me."

Parton continued, "I'm even going to have Cher on, I've been getting a song for her, we've been trying to get the right thing together…"

You can find Parton's appearance on The View below, in which she lists her esteemed collaborators around the two-minute mark.

Outside of her rock album and forthcoming gospel single, Parton will team up with Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan and Blondie's Debbie Harry this Friday (January 20) for new song "Gonna Be You," set to appear on the soundtrack of the Paramount Pictures film 80 for Brady.
