Out of nowhere, DJ Shadow has dropped a new EP, and better yet, he's roped in some seriously high-profile guests.
Titled The Mountain Has Fallen, the new mini-effort arrived this evening (July 6), and you can stream it now in full below. The EP features four tracks and includes rap heroes Nas on the previously released "Systematic" and Danny Brown on "Horror Show." The former track was previously released as part of the Silicon Valley soundtrack.
In a statement, Shadow explained that his last album, 2016's The Mountain Will Fall, came after he walked away from what he describes as a "comfortable" major-label deal.
"So I guess you could say that this new EP is my version of a victory lap," he added. "It's a celebration, and an extension of those confident steps forward."
DJ Shadow is currently out on tour and will play Toronto tomorrow night. You can see all his upcoming dates here.
