Earlier this spring, Spoon's Britt Daniel revealed that Divine Fits — his band with Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade, Handsome Furs) and Sam Brown (New Bomb Turks) — would release a stand-alone two-song single in the coming months. Sure enough, the group have unveiled the new release.
The new songs are called "Chained to Love" and "Ain't That the Way," and they are both available now on iTunes. The former is sung by Boeckner, while the latter is fronted by Daniel. That's the single artwork above.
Pitchfork reports that these songs will be pressed onto a 12-inch single and released through Merge Records on July 23. When the single was first announced, it was said to be a 7-inch, but perhaps "Aint That the Way" was slightly too long for the format.
Divine Fit will perform on Conan tonight (June 4). Presumably they will showcase some of the new material.
