Months removed from finding themselves at the intersection of tech and music, former Majical Cloudz frontman Devon Welsh and Zola Jesus (a.k.a. Nika Danilova) have now launched a new online platform for artists navigating live performance in an industry upended by the coronavirus pandemic.

Alongside web developer Erik Zuuring, the pair have launched new website Koir, a livestreaming hub that offers a calendar for digital performances across the web, in addition to livestreaming tips for those looking to broadcast their music-making online.

"Though livestreaming is not intended to replace live music, it gives musicians another option to monetize and promote their music," the Koir team explained in a statement. "We feel it is important that musicians have as many tools and resources as possible in a time when the financial value of music is in decline."

Events listed so far include streams from Sacred Bones Records and Don Giovanni Records, in addition to sessions from Kevin Morby, Christine and the Queens, James Blake and DJ D-Nice's popular Club Quarantine. Find complete scheduling here.

Welsh is also releasing new music through a Patreon account started last February. Today, he's shared a new song titled "Wasted," which you can find over here.

Welsh released solo album True Love last October. Danilova last put out her Okovi album as Zola Jesus in 2017.
