The youthful trio known as Del Paxton have created a musical masterpiece with the release of Bad Kids. The mellow, jazzy songs on the CD straddle straight-ahead rock'n'roll and laid-back "muzak." Bad Kids is heavy on the vocals, which are provided by all three members. The lyrics usually involve clever wordplay, humorous rhymes like those in the song "Dental Health" or lame lovelorn laments. While some of the songs are nearly mellow enough to put you to sleep, others like "Stop, Drop N' Rock N' Roll" or the near-symphonic ending of "Your Name Here" will have you rocking out. Of the six tracks, there is absolutely nothing below near-perfect quality songwriting and musicianship.
