David Vertesi

"Waterways" (live video)

Vancouver singer-songwriter and Hey Ocean! bassist David Vertesi is currently prepping a new solo album, and Exclaim! has got your first look at the visuals for "Waterways."

The laid-back, lo-fi indie rock tune will appear on the forthcoming full-length and was written from a pretty personal place.

"I wrote 'Waterways' about hard times my brother and his wife went through a while back," he said in a statement. "A lot of my new album revolves thematically around regret and forgiveness. Hard times are what make our bonds the strongest in the end, and this song is inspired by the perseverance required to get there."

As for the clip itself, it features live performance footage that was shot in various spots around a friend's home. Watch as Vertesi dons a Basquiat tee and goes from room to room, joining up with his scattered bandmates along the way.
