Darkthrone

Plaguewielder continues in the more melodic vein of DT's last release while still retaining its traditional black metal feel in both attitude and performance. The guitar riffs contained are cold and complex, and interwoven throughout this six-track CD are the mid-paced riff-orientated songs along with the classic blast-beat moments we have all come to expect from these Norwegian black metallers. The painful vocals and bitter lyrics portray a different side of the band, which has not been all that present in the past. Fans of old school black metal will eat this up.
