Daniel Romano Enters Self-Quarantine, Surprise-Releases New Album

'Visions of the Higher Dream' will remain on Romano's Bandcamp during his "14 day self-quarantine"

Prolific art-rocker Daniel Romano is among the millions of people across the world going under self-quarantine to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic. To make the isolation more bearable, Romano has surprise-released a new album, Visions of the Higher Dream.

According to a statement on Romano's Instagram, the new album will remain on his Bandcamp for the duration of his "14 day self-quarantine." Assuming it began today (March 15), the day of the release, the album will be available to stream and purchase until March 29.

The album has been set at a minimum price of $3 "for those of you hard up in these strange times," but Romano asks, "If you can afford to, please pay a more suitable rate. Stay home, enjoy."

Since the album went live this morning, Romano has since re-uploaded tracks "Lilac About Thy Crown" and "At Times the Fools Sing Freely" to remove "screenshot and FaceTime sounds" that accidentally ended up in the initially released versions.

This marks Romano's first studio album released under his own name since 2018's Finally Free, having released A Flower That Wouldn't Bloom in 2019 under psych moniker Ancient Shapes. Romano's previously announced live album Okay Wow is still due for release on March 27 via You've Changed Records.
