Legendary alternative figure Daniel Johnston is perhaps best known for his music, but his visual art also inhabits the same fantastical world. His fine art will finally make its way to Canada with a rare solo show set to open later this week in Winnipeg.
The show is called Love Makes Me Sad and is set to run from October 14 to November 20 at Winnipeg's Lisa Kehler Art + Projects gallery. The show will kick off with an opening reception on October 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Love Makes Me Sad is billed as Daniel Johnston's first-ever solo art show in Canada. It's made up of 13 drawings, all of which explore the themes of unrequited love and the afterlife.
