Last fall, Toronto R&B artist Daniel Caesar served up a smooth cover of James Vincent McMorrow's Post Tropical single "Chevalier" on his own Praise Break EP. Now, a twice removed remix has come courtesy of producer HMLT.
Caesar's original take on the McMorrow cut focused on a lean but lovely arrangement of late night piano and closed-curtain falsetto cries. HMLT takes the track in a new, open direction, with pre-verb electronics, various velvety production touches and a heart-pumping crash of drums added to the piece.
