Riding magic hour into the sunset, Mutek Chile ambassador Martin Schopf's latest model of the Dandy Jack brand — Dandy Jack and the Sniffing Orchestra — hit the open-air crowd with a chill but swinging session. Opening with a magic hour get-down, the Lausanne-based Chilean producer built up ecstatic techno tracks full of eccentric squiggles and Latin percussion samples, left-field psychedelic breaks giving way to graceful but pummelling stomps. Schopf was a dancing ball of energy throughout, daring the audience to meet him on his level.

As the two-hour-plus performance went on and the sun dropped further behind the mountain, Schopf shifted gears to a higher setting and a deeper groove, slowing things down to a bounding uphill climb. The performance hit its peak when Schopf started mixing in tracks with rhythmic vocal leads, Dobradinha and Andres Garcia's "Pò de Pirlimpimpim" closing the comfortable gap between audience and producer as dancers surged forward to make good on their end.
