Charming indie-rock two-piece Cousins played an energetic, dynamic set, surrounded by slick clothes at a boutique called Model Citizens for the first surprise "pop up show" of Lawnya Vawnya. As a couple of bubbly young women giggled, trying on clothes in a change room during the first two songs, Cousins played their mighty, lo-fi brand of pop with earnest abandon. Aaron Mangle thanked Lawnya Vawnya for inviting them out, saying they were so excited to play, they showed up fully packed at the airport one day early. They debuted a couple of great new songs and fielded a request for "Throwing Rocks" with some apprehension before doing a great job with it, particularly pleasing the excited fan who asked for it. This all fit the mood of this unexpected, completely socially mediated show; Cousins were an awesome surprise present for those paying attention to Lawnya Vawnya's online announcements.
