Courtney Love has opened up about some recent health complications that left her bedridden and feeling "broken" and "frail," revealing that she nearly died last summer and at one point weighed only 97 pounds.

In a lengthy Instagram post, the Hole mastermind detailed her experience with anemia, hinted at possibly suffering from Crohn's disease, and explained the difficulties involved in being an addict and getting adequate treatment for her symptoms.

"People, I've been sad and extremely sick. Debilitated, in indescribable pain and in August, at 97 pounds almost died in hospital from anemia (hemoglobin I had none)," she wrote. "I was stigmatized for being an addict for 9 months by many ill-equipped drs, backwards drs and quacks. While in debilitating acute pain."

Love explained how she has used CBD oil to manage her physical symptoms and pain, and how she is no longer a skeptic when it comes to the medicinal properties of cannabis. She also thanked Woody Harrelson for introducing her to the many "uses of hemp."

"I'm still 100 percent sober by the way," she added, "Bear with me as I start to try and have a blast and help others every pain-free day."
