Cosmic Gate

Earth Mover

BY Rob WooPublished Feb 26, 2007

Displaying the ruthless German efficiency of compatriots Mercedes and BMW, Cosmic Gate have done everything possible to become a powerful force in trance music. Charting high in the DJ list, and with a wealth of played-out A-sides and remixes to their name, this third album collects some recent singles and more. Taking the edge off of the harder trance produced back in the late ’90s, Earth Mover is a more progressive album, one indicative of their sequence of singles tracks that have been released over the last few years. Known individually as Nic Chagall and DJ Bossi, the duo has toured the globe individually and together, playing the biggest parties worldwide. The album focuses around warm, rippling bass lines and some beautiful vocal contributions from the likes of Jan Johnston and, on recent single "Should’ve Known,” Tiff Lacey. Truly an elegant album, Cosmic Gate present a beautiful collection of late night anthems.
