The Constantines' Bry Webb Announces Debut Solo Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 12, 2011

While many are still lamenting the Constantines' indefinite hiatus, a silver lining has just come in the form of a new solo set from frontman Bry Webb. The musician is all set to deliver his debut disc, Provider, this fall.

A press release -- which unfortunately refers to him as "former Constantines frontman, Bry Webb -- confirms that Webb will unleash his first solo full-length on November 15 via Idée Fixe Records.

A tracklisting has yet to be revealed, but we do know that it was recorded by Jeff McMurrich (Jennifer Castle, Owen Pallett, Sandro Perri) and that Webb was joined in the studio by lap steel player Rich Burnett, pedal steel player Mike Brooks and upright bassist Tyler Belluz. Recorded live off the floor, Provider's tunes are said to be "organic, eerie and minimal and provide the perfect backdrop for Bry's literate and detailed narratives."

Fans will get a chance to see the newly solo Webb perform his upcoming song cycle on tour of his own, as well as with Feist, this fall. Check out the dates below.

As previously reported, on top of touting his own work, Webb will be making a guest vocal appearance at Feist's CBC performance of Metals on October 8.
