Little Big Band leader Colin James has now been in the music biz for a whopping 25 years. The Canadian songwriter will be celebrating that milestone next month with the March 19 release of Twenty Five Live via Universal.
This is James' first ever live album. It was recorded this past November 10 on the final show of a three-night stand at Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom. It was co-produced and mixed by returning recording collaborator Joe Hardy (ZZ Top, Steve Earle).
Check out the tracklist below. Although the press release doesn't note which of the songs are originally by other artists, at least of few of them appear to be covers; "Stones in My Passway" is a Robert Johnson song, "Into the Mystic" is by Van Morrison, "Johnny Coolman" is by Toots & the Maytals, "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley" was written by Allen Toussaint and most famously performed by Robert Palmer, and "Shed a Little Light" is by Foy Vance.
In related news, James will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame on March 21 at Canadian Music Week in Toronto.
