Coeur de pirate is returning to our lives with a new single. Called "T'es belle," the song is labelled "a feminist anthem that is true to the times and downright exhilarating." It even comes alongside a video done by Coeur de pirate's Béatrice Martin herself.
A press release breaks it down like this:
"T'es belle" is unequivocal: its message is crystal clear, powerful, and direct. Fully in line with the current paradigm shift and generalized public outrage, the song protests against a suffocating patriarchy that dictates what womxn must do and how. Its subversive lyrics clash with its sunny pop groove and country feel.
The song was co-produced by Martin and features Dimitri Lebel-Alexandre on banjo, dobro and pedal steel guitar. As for the video, the Martin-directed affair is a slick and stylish effort, serving as a "celebration of womxn in all their wonderful diversity" as it "breaks with the rigid and reductive stereotypes of the past."
You can watch the result of "T'es belle" below.
Martin last released her En cas de tempête, ce jardin sera fermé album in 2018.
