England Belongs To Me

BY Rob FerrazPublished May 1, 2001

This 20-song CD contains the early singles from these oi punk originators. If you aren't familiar with them, this is as good a place to start as you could hope for. Part of the class of '77, they drew on influences like the Small Faces, Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath and fused them with Clash-style punk rock energy. Among the hits included are "Runnin' Riot," a cover of the Stones' "We Love You," "Argy Bargy," the title track and many more. One thing lacking on this are liner notes giving some of the band's history or at least original release dates of the singles.
