Clutch Tease New 'Psychic Warfare' LP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 1, 2015

While currently playing on their North American tour with Mastodon, U.S. boogie rock band Clutch have revealed that they're also working on a new LP. Though details have yet to arrive in full, the band have been reporting onstage that their next full-length is called Psychic Warfare.

News of the album has been making the rounds since frontman Neil Fallon revealed the album title at a show in Vancouver last week. Metal Injection now reports that Fallon likewise told a crowd at Oakland, CA's Fox Theater on Tuesday (April 28) about the impending LP, and then the act performed new tracks "X-Ray Visions" and "Decapitation Blues."

Clutch's Facebook page has also offered up a sneak peek via a video of the band listening to a swampy hard blues track in their hotel room. It's as yet unclear what the song is called, but you can stream the preview clip on Facebook.

Though an official street date has yet to be revealed, it's alleged that the album should hit store shelves sometime in September. It will be the band's first studio set since 2013's Earth Rocker, which was complemented the next year with a deluxe edition.

Clutch's tour with Mastodon wraps up at the end of the month, and will hit London, ON's London Music Hall on May 21. You can find out the rest of the show info over here and check out the tour art above. Perhaps it gives us an idea on what direction the cover art to the new LP might take.

Clutch also have some European dates coming up under the appropriate banner of the "Psychic Warfare Tour." You can see those here.
