Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds may have just signed on to play deceased Jackass star Ryan Dunn in a new film, but it hasn't stopped the band from mapping out a massive co-headlining tour this spring.
Dubbed The Missing Link Tour, it will see the Atlanta metal unit double-billed with rockers Clutch, alternating headlining timeslots throughout the tour. Clutch will close out the evening in Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Bethlehem, Baltimore and Columbus, with Mastodon providing the final send-off at the rest of the shows.
Supporting act Big Business will open the shows until April 29, when Graveyard will take over opening duties in Los Angeles.
With the bands being longtime friends and occasional collaborators, a press release promises that "fans can expect surprises in store" from Mastodon and Clutch on stage, in what is sure to be a string of memorable performances.
The exciting stage show will be making a number of Canadian stops, including shows in Winnipeg (April 17), Saskatoon (April 18), Edmonton (April 19), Calgary (April 21) and two Vancouver stops on April 23 and 24. The bands will also circle back north of the border towards the end of the tour for a show in London, ON, on May 21.
Mastodon's Once More Round the Sun is available now via Warner Bros., while Clutch's latest LP Earth Rocker is currently out through Weathermaker.
