Circlesquare Pairs Up with Junior Boys for First Canadian Dates in Support of Songs About Dancing and Drugs

Circlesquare, aka Vancouver native Jeremy Shaw, is finally hitting Canadian soil in support of his latest release, Songs About Dancing and Drugs. He'll be out backing up Junior Boys in both Vancouver and Victoria, BC, on October 8 and 9, respectively. The tour will move south from there, down the west coast all the way to Texas.

Songs About Dancing and Drugs, which hit shelves back in January, garnered much critical acclaim upon its release, including accolades from even us here at Exclaim! To refresh your memory, Shaw and his band-mates (guitarist Trevor Lawson and drummer Dale Butterfield) sharpened their atmosphere-heavy electro skills in Berlin before heading back home to record the album live at the Hive recording studio in Vancouver.

In our write-up, we said, "Circlesquare is operating more soundly in Junior Boys territory, replacing the dark emptiness at the core of [1999's] Pre-Earthquake Anthem for terrains that are more melodic, sensitive and dare we say, mature." So yes, we agree that Junior Boys are some very fitting touring partners indeed.

Here are Circlesquare's upcoming North American dates, all of which are with Junior Boys:

10/8 Vancouver, BC - Venue
10/9 Victoria, BC - Sugar
10/10 Seattle, WA - Chop Suey
10/11 Portland, OR - Doug Fir Lounge
