The tea? Nagoya, Japan's CHAI have announced their fourth studio album, led by new single "PARA PARA." The quartet have also scheduled a fall North American tour, which includes a lone Canadian date in Toronto.

CHAI arrives September 22 on Sub Pop / Sony. Featuring the previously released single "We the Female!," it follows the pop band's acclaimed 2021 LP, WINK, and 2019's PUNK.

Produced by previous collaborator Ryu Takahashi, the self-titled collection is a meditation on the band's cultural heritage. "Everything reflected in the lyrics expresses our experience as Japanese women," vocalist/keyboardist Mana said in a press release.

The disco-inflected lead single is dedicated to a two-step dance trend that overtook Japan in the 1990s. "When your body moves to the beat of your heart, you'll realize that the world is smaller than you think, and all your problems are easier than they seem," Mana explained.

You can listen to "PARA PARA" below, where you'll also find the CHAI tracklist and the band's tour itinerary, which will bring them to Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern on October 4.
