The title of Catl.'s 2012 album, Soon This Will All Be Gone, seems to have been prophetic, since the Toronto blues band have announced an indefinite hiatus. Prior to taking a break, though, the group will say goodbye with a hometown show.
The hiatus was sparked by drummer Andrew Moszynski's decision to leave the group after a busy year of touring. According to an announcement from the band, "Jamie Fleming and Sarah Kirkpatrick (the two remaining members) are unsure when, where or what the future of the band will be."
That said, Fleming keep the moniker alive with recording and performances, although the direction and specifics are unknown.
The group's final gig before the hiatus will be on January 19 at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. Tickets are $12, and the bill features the Royal Crowns and the Canadian Shield. According to the band, this will give them a chance to "personally thank our friends and fans with a last drunken dance-party as we kick Andrew's sorry ass out the door and into the cold dark night!"
