Neill Dixon, founder and president of Canadian Music Week (CMW), has announced that he's retiring from his duties and passing the reins to buyers Loft Entertainment and Oak View Group (OVG).

Toronto's Loft Entertainment, led by former Universal Music Canada CEO Randy Lennox, will ensure CMW remains headquartered locally, while the inclusion of Denver-based sports company OVG could indicate that future editions of CMW may look to expand to the US.

"It has been an incredible journey to see Canadian Music Week grow from a small gathering of music lovers to one of the most influential music festivals and conferences in the world," Dixon said of his time helming the festival, per Billboard.

This year's iteration of the annual festivities kicked off on June 1 and will continue until June 8, with Walk Off the Earth and TESTPILOT having already performed and acts including Charlotte Day Wilson, Steve Aoki, Finger Eleven, Killy and Allie X still to take the stage.
