It's getting harder by the day to keep up with ever-industrious Hamilton-based rapper Cadence Weapon's (a.k.a. Rollie Pemberton) next move, but we do the best we can. Just a couple months after he announced that he's authoring his second book, the part-time hooper, poet and music industry sage has branched into the fashion industry with a local vintage clothing business.

Pemberton launched Searcher Vintage on Instagram at the end of December by sharing pictures of himself in some of the pieces that he's reselling, which included old finds from the Gap, Sears and even the Burlington Sailing & Boating Club.

"I’m not interested in selling Looney Tunes shirts and pop culture signifiers," Pemberton told The Toronto Star. "I offer elevated basics with a level of craftsmanship you don’t see today: old blanks, Ivy League stuff from Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger, ’90s Gap and workwear. I’m also really into this old Sears men’s store label from the ’70s and ’80s. It’s incredible quality."

Although he doesn't have a storefront yet, Pemberton is reportedly thinking about opening a physical location. Until then, vintage shoppers can find Searcher online and at pop-ups. He held his first in-person event at Smash Salvage in Hamilton on January 20.
