Something about the heart is that it does, in fact, go on — much like Céline Dion, who returns to music today amid coping with stiff-person syndrome. She has released the title track from Love Again, the forthcoming romantic comedy that will see the singer make her acting debut.
Aside from a Spotify Singles session in 2020, this marks the first new musical release from the icon since her 2019 album Courage. "Love Again" is the first of five original songs Dion contributed to the movie's soundtrack, set for release on May 12. It includes a total of 11 songs from the superstar, which are interwoven with the film's narrative and the lives of its characters.
"I had a lot of fun doing this movie," she shared in a press release. "And to have the privilege of appearing with the beautiful and talented actors Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan in my very first feature film is a gift that I will cherish forever. I think it's a wonderful feel-good story, and I hope that people will like it, and like the new songs too."
A gentle, lilting piano ballad, "Love Again" embodies the unfettered hope of the film's synopsis: while mourning the death of her boyfriend, Chopra's character begins sending texts to his old number — which Heughan's character, hapless in the love department, starts receiving.
