Busdriver

'Thumbs' (album stream)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 6, 2015

A year after showing us his Perfect Hair, California rapper Busdriver is now putting the focus on his Thumbs. Following a few single previews, the indie spitter's latest collection is available to stream in full.

The latest Busdriver release features 15 cuts of conceptually swerved beats and thoughtful, society-questioning wordplay. "The feds are using your phone data for revenge porn," he theorizes above the melted keyboard melodies of opener "Hottentot Supercluster."

It's added in a press release that Thumbs "draws from the defining musical tropes of the L.A. underground rap experience with the isolation born from racial politics fixed as a central theme."

The tape finds the marquee star mixing it up with Del the Funky Homosapien, Daveed Diggs, Jeremiah Jae, milo, Mono/Poly, Kenny Segal, Fumitake Tamura and more. You can stream the set below.
