In the spirit of Lightning Bolt before them, Guelph's self-proclaimed "bullshit hardcore" two-piece BSHC completely eschewed the stage at the Making Box Theatre, set up on the floor, pulled a balaclava over their drummer's face, stuffed a microphone in there and set to work. Their pummelling thrash was high on adrenaline, but a shorter set or a smaller room might have made the spectacle more effective and captivating.
The tight crowd that curiously assembled around them at the beginning of their set eventually thinned out as the band became visually exhausted and the ski mask ended up on the floor; by the end, only a couple handfuls of audience members remained on the outskirts, nodding their heads.
