The Holy Fuck front-man stepped back into solo mode with music for four a.m. drives — which wasn’t necessarily what we wanted to hear at ten p.m. on a Friday night. But Borcherdt made it work, starting off with a whispery non-ironic cover of Kim Mitchell’s "Easy to Tame,” and gradually getting louder with the help of a minimal backing band. Borcherdt’s singing is better than ever, and the influence of his good friend Chad Van Gaalen is apparent in plenty of the new material.
