Saskatoon's Breach of Trust does not sound akin to the nu-metal vibe their album initially lets off. Instead, the band keeps things fairly calm through this disc and even the big groove parts sound like the quieter parts somehow. The whole thing sort of blurs together into one flat, flowing stream of, well, something. The music is heavy but I wouldn't really call it metal, more like post-grunge heavy emo rock. Fairly interesting lyrics, fairly muddy production, hell, everything about this is fair. I'm impressed because I was expecting Ozzfest crap but I'm let down because it just doesn't grab me. This is a league above most major label "metal," but not without the crappy aftertaste that comes with most bands that major labels like.
