Bobnoxious

Superscar

BY Keith CarmanPublished Aug 19, 2008

Distinctive and anthemic, witty yet aggressive, London, ON’s Bobnoxious are the perfect culmination of rock’s most crucial elements: AC/DC-inspired simplicity with punk rock belligerence. And while it seems surprising that these bare-bone essentials could still be refined, they’ve done it again with third effort Superscar. Hammering away like a machinegun spitting out hooky choruses ("Ain’t No Holiday”), double-time blasts of rage ("Flinch”) and brashness and tongue-in-cheek humour ("On A Front,” "Valencrime”), Superscar is an all-out, booze-fuelled party record. Bolstered by crisp production and energetic performances, Superscar is the culmination of years of revision and honing talents, resulting in an enthusiastic, rousing experience.
