Blur Doc to Hit Canadian Theatres for One Day Only

BY Stephen CarlickPublished Jan 15, 2010

Late last year, we reported that Blur would be releasing a new documentary called No Distance Left to Run, which would feature footage of their recent reunion tour, rehearsals and archival footage from throughout the band's career. It seemed pretty sweet, but alas, it was playing exclusively in British theatres.

But things are looking up; it's now been announced that the film will go international for one day only, and for Blur fans in Canada, that day is January 21.

Select Cineplex locations across the country will show the film at 7:00 p.m. in their respective local time zones. Tickets will go on sale today (January 15) over here.

If you're the contest-loving type, however, you may want to enter Exclaim!'s ticket giveaway here. Be quick though, the deadline is January 20.

Along with the theatrical release, No Distance Left to Run is set for a DVD release in the UK on February 15. It will come as a two-disc deal, with the first featuring the full-length documentary, while the second will hold the full live set from one of Blur's recent Hyde Park shows in London. There is so far no word if the DVD is getting a North American release.
