When he's not fronting Frankensteined lineups of the Smashing Pumpkins, alt-rock great Billy Corgan maintains some seriously interesting hobbies. Aside from his love of cats and conspiracy theories, the songwriter has emerged as a prominent figurehead in the indie wrestling world. Though he eventually tapped out of his relationship with TNA, it looks as if Corgan is set to re-enter the wrestling arena.
According to a lengthy post from PWInsider [via Stereogum], Corgan is close to finalizing a deal that would see him purchase the National Wrestling Alliance.
The deal would see Corgan take ownership of the long-running company's name, rights and trademark as well as its championship belt. The NWA has existed in one form or another since 1948.
Stay tuned for more information on the sale as it becomes available.
