Beverly Glenn-Copeland released his lovely new album The Ones Ahead earlier this year, and he was set to head out on a brief North American tour in support of the record this fall. However, with COVID cases on the rise, Glenn-Copeland has announced that he's cancelling his upcoming dates.

In a statement posted to his Instagram account, Glenn-Copeland wrote:

Unfortunately, due to the alarming rise in Covid numbers, I have no choice but to announce the cancellation of my upcoming North American Tour dates.

Due to being immunocompromised and in my 80th year, doctors have advised that standard masking at shows would no longer be sufficient protection. In addition, the requirement to mask would now also extend to me as I perform!

To all of you who have bought tickets, I'm sorry I won't be able to bring this show to life right now. Myself, Elizabeth and all the musicians involved have been working tirelessly in preparation for this tour and it is not a decision we've taken lightly, however health has to come first.

I will see you soon ❤️

Refunds available at the point of purchase.

It's a bummer that we won't get to see Glenn-Copeland perform his new material, but the decision seems more than reasonable given the situation. Earlier this year, we spoke to Glenn-Copeland about The Ones Ahead and what comes next — you can check that out here
