Multi-instrumentalist and member of BADBADNOTGOOD, Leland Whitty, has announced that his debut solo album Anyhow will arrive on December 9 through Innovative Leisure.
Written, arranged and performed by Whitty himself — alongside guest spots from BBNG's Chester Hansen and Alexander Sowinski, as well as Julian Anderson Bowes, Matthew Tavares and Whitty's brother Lowell — the seven-track album is said to "imply the kind of structural narrative found in jazz improvisation," with the artist drawing inspiration from visual sources such as film and photography.
Today, he shares lead single "Awake," which combines "synthesized keys, descending strings and layered horns combining cinematic composition with jazz and rock influences." Listen to that below, where you can also find the album's tracklisting.
Whitty is due to head out on a winter tour of Europe and the UK next month. He has yet to map out any Canadian dates in support of the record.
Anyhow:
1. Svalbard
2. Glass Moon
3. Awake
4. Windows
5. Silver Rain
6. In Circle
7. Anyhow
