Back in February, Backxwash announced that she was working on the follow-up to 2021's I LIE HERE BURIED WITH MY RINGS AND MY DRESSES — Black Sailor Moon 2, a companion to her 2018 EP Black Sailor Moon — though no date has been given for when it might arrive.
But today, she's announced another new album to tide fans over, set for release this year. Continuing her run of albums with long and ominous titles, Backxwash's HIS HAPPINESS SHALL COME FIRST EVEN THOUGH WE ARE SUFFERING will arrive, fittingly, on October 31.
Backxwash announced the upcoming album on her social media pages, though no other details about the project were provided.
Backxwash is set to hit a bunch of festivals this summer, having already played Calgary's Sled Island before appearing at Sudbury's Up Here and Toronto's Wavelength Summer Thing in August.
