Noisy horror-rap hero Backxwash jumped on Twitter today to say that she'll be dropping a new album called Black Sailor Moon 2 (possibly stylized in all caps) this year, and that she's "going for something even more noisy and abrasive than last year's."
"Last year's" is, of course, the mind-melting I Lie Here Buried with My Rings and My Dresses, which itself was the follow-up to 2020's Polaris Prize-winning God Has Nothing to Do with This Leave Him Out of It.
Logic has it that Black Sailor Moon 2 is a companion to 2018 EP Black Sailor Moon, though it looks like the sequel will be a full-length rather than an EP.
Earlier this month, Backxwash collaborated with Death Grips keyboardist and producer Andy Morin on "Dig Yourself a Grave."
