Are Drake and Future About to Release a Mixtape?

Keep in mind that absolutely nothing has been confirmed about this yet, but rumours are abound that Drake and Future could be releasing a collaborative mixtape sometime this weekend.

Though much of the discussion about the possibility of the project has surfaced over Twitter, a few interesting hiccups have occurred throughout the week that could lead one to believe that an OVO/Freebandz team-up is a go.

OVO artist OB O'Brien, for instance, Instagrammed what could presumably be the cover art for the as-yet-unconfirmed mixtape. As you'll see up above, it puts on display an OVO-modelled owl dripping in purple goo, with the visuals also alluding to the violet suds shown on the cover to Future's DS2 and the bloody mess showcased on his Beast Mode tape's artwork. The image has since been yanked from O'Brien's page.

Power 105.1 FM's The Breakfast Club program in New York has also seemingly teased the tape, with an on-air discussion finding Charlamagne Tha God scolding co-host Angela Yee for blabbing. When she said "when Drake and Future?" during the program earlier this week, he replied, "Shut up Yee, Jesus Christ."

When grilled about the deets on Twitter, Yee did her best to keep mum, while still stirring up interest via the following emoji:

DJ Skee has also raised eyebrows with the following speculative tweet:

Though nothing has been confirmed by either Drake or Future, it's not like they haven't teamed up before. For one, they're former tourmates and have collaborated on tracks in the past. Most recently, they appeared together in Future's video for "Where Ya At."

"Where's the tape at?" is a question a lot of fans may be asking themselves at the moment. Stay tuned.
