The Appleseed Cast returns with an excellent second full-length brimming with melancholic energy. With 11 songs in all, one of which is hidden, this Kansas quartet delves into a moody mix of Sunny Day Real Estate, Jane's Addiction and Jimmy Eat World. It's the sort of thing you appreciate all the more because you know their hearts are in it. This is a solid record from the opening notes of "The Immortal Soul Of Mundi Cani" through to the last song, "Storms," a brooding, seven-and-half minute emo classic. This is the perfect soundtrack for those lonesome rainy days.
