The Appleseed Cast Return with New Album, Hit Canada on North American Tour

Hear the song "Time the Destroyer" from the upcoming LP 'The Fleeting Light of Impermanence'

The Appleseed Cast are coming back into our lives with a new album. Titled The Fleeting Light of Impermanence, the full-length will arrive on June 28 via Graveface.

On top of that, the atmospheric post-rock/emo outfit have also shared the new song "Time the Destroyer," as well as rolled out a sprawling North American tour that will hit Canada this summer.

The Fleeting Light of Impermanence marks the Kansas band's first new album since 2013's Illumination Ritual. According to a press release, the record was first conceptualized by band leader Chris Crisci "in hundreds of vignettes before seamlessly weaving them together." The resulting album was then recorded in three phases.

Of the finished album, the PR explains the following:

Both lyrically and sonically, the album delves into the raw edges of existence, happiness, love and the journey to be free and laid out under the expanse of the universe with the vulnerable defeats and fleeting victories of life. It is about surviving and finding love and meaning against the backdrop of seemingly overwhelming darkness in the world. This idea runs through the entire album and shines in the repeated themes of fire, signifying our life light, the most basic good in people and the love that carries us through. There's a feeling that this fire is both, at the same time, insignificant, as on a lonely beach at the edge of the world or in a pile of leaves, and also the only thing that really matters.

For a taste of this, you can hear the newly revealed album track "Time the Destroyer" down below.

As for that North American tour, it's already underway but will find the Appleseed Cast on the road well into August. In addition to a pile of U.S. stops, there are also a few in Western Canada, including Winnipeg on August 12, Edmonton on August 14, Calgary on August 15 and Vancouver on August 16.

You can see the entire schedule below, where you'll also find the new album's tracklist, as well as the stream for "Time the Destroyer."
