Today is gonna be the day that they're — the TTC — gonna throw it back to you. While Torontonians have gotten accustomed to daily articles about stabbings taking place on the city's overwhelmed transit system, something far more gentle on the heart has happened this time: a passenger busted out an acoustic guitar and, as god intended, performed "Wonderwall" by Oasis.

Now, this concept is normally kind of the opposite of wholesome; never once have I thought that when some dude at a house party ended up adding a six-string to his two-six and launched into Radiohead's "Creep" (you've probably never heard of it). But in the context of the TTC, with its exorbitantly reported criminal activity and heavy police presence, this act somehow becomes worthy of bringing a tear to your eye.

Of course, part of that comes from the person delivering it. A baseball cap and Toronto Blue Jays shirt-clad rider on the TTC route 504 replacement bus yesterday (April 12) captured [via blogTO] serenading his fellow passengers — including a delighted child, excitedly kicking their legs just out of frame — epitomizes this point.

The unidentified in-ride entertainment reportedly proceeded to make a plea for peace on the commute with a rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine." If this isn't gonna be the one that saves us, we don't know what will.
