Andrew Bird Tour Captured in New 'Fever Year' Documentary

Loop-loving Chicago indie rocker Andrew Bird hasn't released any new material for some time, but that doesn't mean he hasn't stayed busy with a rigorous tour schedule. So it's fitting that his busy itinerary is the subject of a new documentary called Fever Year from director Xan Aranda.

The film's website offers this description: "Filmed during culminating months of the acclaimed singer-songwriter's most rigorous year of touring, Andrew Bird crosses the December finish line in his hometown of Chicago -- feverish and on crutches from an onstage injury. Is he suffering hazards from chasing the ghost of inspiration? Or merely transforming into a different kind of animal 'perfectly adapted to the music hall?'"

Along with Bird, the film features collaborators Martin Dosh, Jeremy Ylvisaker, Michael Lewis and Annie Clark of St. Vincent.

Fever Year is expected to hit the festival circuit later this year, and will make its world premiere at the Vancouver International Film Festival, which runs from September 29 to October 14. A trailer for the film is expected soon.
