AlphaCub

"Friends"

Marc-Antoine Robertson used to front the Halifax band SoHo Ghetto, but following their split last year, he has moved to Toronto and launched the solo project AlphaCub. The debut EP from this project is coming out next year, and Robertson has shared the track "Friends."

The album takes a synth-driven approach to dramatic, arena-sized rock. A booming drum machine and steady synth bass provide the rhythmic foundation for atmospheric textures and grandiose guitar licks, and the arrangement soars skyward during its epic chorus. According to a press release, "AlphaCub blurs the line between a mainstream radio sound and sweaty, energy fuelled indie rock," and this song certainly makes good on that description.

Robertson will release his debut EP as AlphaCub in spring 2016 through Culvert Music/Universal Music Canada.
