Cuban-Canadian Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Alex Cuba has announced the Paralelo tour, which will see him perform his latest album, 2023's El Swing Que Yo Tengo, across North America — including a special Toronto show next month.
Presented by the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), Cuba will be joined by New Mexico troubadour Raul Midón at the immaculate Koerner Hall on April 26. This historic team-up encapsulates the new generation of Latin pop-indebted soul music, with both performers being masterful multi-instrumentalists as well as dynamic and engaging performers who transcend language.
This extraordinary display of musicianship will kick off the Paralelo tour, which has been named for Cuba's multiple ongoing projects (completing a new album, performing, and developing an intergenerational, history musical called Voices of My Family), continuing on the following evening (April 27) in Kansas City. The rest of the singer-songwriter's tour stops will likewise take place stateside, wrapping things up with three late-May shows being billed as Alex Cuba Trio concerts in Stuart (May 16), Sarasota (May 17) and Woodstock (May 18).
Tickets for Cuba's Toronto performance with Midón are on sale now via the RCM website. Find Cuba's full tour itinerary below.
