As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect day-to-day life, yet another event has been postponed in the Calgary Underground Film Festival

The fest was set to unleash its 17th annual edition from April 20 to 26, but the event has now been called off. The news follows the Alberta government's recommendation to cancel public gatherings of 250-plus people.

Globe Cinema, the venue that hosts the Calgary Underground Film Festival, has also temporarily closed.

As of press time, it's as yet unclear when the festival will now take place.

Further, the organization hosts monthly "Off the CUFF" screenings. The upcoming showings of Saint Maud on March 31 and You Don't Nomi / Showgirls on April 11 have both been cancelled. CUFF has announced that it may reschedule the events, but the festival is also open to offering refunds.

"As an organization that relies on ticket revenue to operate, if you would like to consider donating the cost of your ticket to CUFF, it would mean the world to us," the organization wrote.
