After the massive success of Minari and a memorable appearance in Nope, Steven Yeun is apparently poised to add a Marvel movie to his filmography.
As Deadline reports, sources say Yeun will join Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts, a forthcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe entry centred around the antihero team of the same name.
Sources tell Deadline that Yeun has secured "a part that is not only significant to this film but could also play a role going forward in future films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe." A wider reveal of the Thunderbolts cast came last September at Disney's D23 Expo event.
Yeun's Thunderbolts castmates include Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster and Ayo Edebiri in an undisclosed role.
The Jake Schreier-directed Thunderbolts is presently slated for release on July 26, 2024. The film will cap Phase Five of the MCU, which includes the recently released Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and continues with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, Captain America: New World Order, Blade and Deadpool 3.
Last August, it was reported that Yeun was at work on a new A24 comedy pilot with director duo DANIELS. In April, the actor will co-star alongside Ali Wong in new comedy-drama series Beef.
