The Canadian Academy has announced the details of the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards. The broadcast will take place on April 16, with Toronto-born comedian Samantha Bee serving as host. It will air on CBC.
Prior to the awards ceremony, Canadian Screen Week will run from April 11 to 14 at Toronto's Meridian Hall. This marks a return to in-person programming following the lockdowns of the early pandemic. The Canadian Screen Awards will be handed out across seven genre-based events, leading up to the main televised ceremony on April 16.
The nominees won't be announced until February 22, but a few award recipients were previously confirmed: Ryan Reynolds will receive the Humanitarian Award, Catherine O'Hara will be honoured with the Academy Icon Award, and Simu Liu will get the Radius Award.
Stay tuned for nominees to be confirmed later this month.
