Pharrell Williams has announced that his life will be the subject of an animated Lego biopic titled Piece by Piece. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville, the film is slated to arrive in theatres on October 11 via Focus Features.

The producer, songwriter and artist announced the news on Instagram today, writing, "Who would’ve thought that playing with Legos as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life. It’s proof that anyone else can do it too… #PiecebyPiece."

Although the choice to convey his story through Lego has gotten a mixed reaction online, nobody's questioning Williams's claim to a biopic. The multi-hyphenate has done it all throughout his industrious career; he's collected over a dozen Grammys across various genres for both production and performance, soundtracked movies, acted and, most recently, broke into the fashion industry as the creative director for Louis Vuitton's menswear

Jill Wilfert, the film's executive producer from the Lego Group, said that there's no better medium through which to tell Pharrell's life story.

"Pharrell is a true visionary and is someone who continually pushes the boundaries of what creativity means; something very close to our hearts here at the Lego Group," she wrote in a press release shared by Deadline. "We believe the Lego brick is the ultimate creative medium, allowing people to build, unbuild and rebuild in as many ways as they can imagine, mirroring how Pharrell has continually innovated in his own life."
